Team’s Safe Arrival in Akuse, Ghana!

Akuse, Ghana -- Our team of our arrived safely in Accra on Saturday.  After an uneventful flight from JKF, Jeff Andler, James McLean, Andy Poe and I were met at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra by our national director, Dr. Sammy Lartey.  Within a few seconds our friendships were renewed and it seemed like only yesterday that we were here in country. After lunch in Accra we made our way out to Akuse where we will spend the first week of our two-week project.  Our accommodations are completely adequate -- clean, spacious, and cool!  The staff here is wonderful...

“There’s Something Evil in our Society …”

Yesterday’s terrible tragedy at the Washington Navy Yard reminds us of the absolute horrors of the human condition.  During her Press Conference, Dr. Janis Orlowski, Chief Medical Officer at Washington, D.C.’s MedStar Washington Hospital Center said, “there's something evil in our society that we as Americans have to work to try and eradicate.” After listening to her complete statement it seems the Doctor was using this platform to share her beliefs about gun control.  She thinks that so much of the terror would come to an end if we just eliminated guns.  While she certainly has the right to voice...

G3 Living

Over the weekend I learned a great deal about human nature.  For some reason my spiritual senses were particularly sensitive to the fact that people are too often complaining!  It seemed no matter where I was I heard people complaining to someone about their current state.  I was walking down the sidewalk of a Target store and overheard two employees complaining about the fact that they were having to work overtime, while someone else apparently was taking a day off.  Standing in the checkout line of a Wal-Mart I heard one customer complaining to another about the fact that place...

Straight From My Heart…

In just a matter of days our team will be setting out for an intense rural evangelism project in Ghana.  I am thankful for the great team that God has put together for this particular ministry work. Each team member is uniquely gifted and a perfect match for the assignments facing us.  We will, of course, certainly face “unexpected” obstacles and opposition but I am sure none of these things will catch God off guard.  Please pray for us all and ask the Heavenly Father to constantly remind us that we are both empowered and embraced by Him. The work...

Preparing the Way…

Please continue to pray for the upcoming Ghana project.  Our men on the ground continue to face severe opposition and trials of every sort.  I joined(via telephone) them this weekend for a wonderful time of prayer and praise to God.  Even in the midst of adversity these dear men encourage me beyond measure.  Several people have called or emailed me to assure us of their prayers as well.  I told the guys there that they could count on us to continue to lift their requests before the Lord's throne of grace. Please remember this week to pray specifically for: Dr....

Spiritual Warfare Intensifies

One of the constants of life is knowing this:  "There are no blessings without battles ... there is no Victory without war."  This is certainly realized in our spiritual lives and particularly during our days of preparation for an international ministry project.  Over the last couple of weeks there have been numerous spiritual battles waged against many of the people involved on our team.  Just yesterday, I received this text from Sammy Lartey, our national director in Ghana.  Bea, that he refers to in the message, is his dear wife.  (This is his exact text ...) Dear Roy, Bea's family...
