God Gives Us a Glimpse of His Work In Ghana

We have completed our ministry project in Ghana.  All-in-all we were able to share the Gospel in 153 different venues to approximately 35,000 people.  This is a testimony to the grace of God and the dedicated service of our Ghana partners.  Even in the face of the various attacks of the enemy the project went on without any major problems. To be sure, we had momentary interruptions, inconveniences, and distractions but none had lasting results.  The power of God is without match and we have witnessed this over and over again during our days here. Upon our return to Accra...

School Ministry Ends on Thursday

It appears that today will be our final opportunity to be in the schools during this project.  The result on the ongoing Teacher Strike has been the closing of all the schools in this area of the country -- and presumably all of the country.  However, by God’s grace and the strategic planning of our Ghanian team, we were able to cover nearly all of our planned ministry.  Since our arrival in Mepe (on Thursday, 3/7/13) we have been able to share the Gospel with 116 different school groups.  This is certainly a testimony to the provision and plan of...

Schools Finally Impacted By Strike

The National Teachers strike is today affecting our work in the schools.  On more than one occasion this morning we drove up to empty school yards and buildings.  This is disappointing but we know that God is working out His own purpose in this. Our double duty the last couple of days has apparently paid off since we were able to share in schools that were scheduled for the rest of this week.  Our coordinators here are working diligently to get us in to more private schools in the area.  Please pray for this strategy change.     We also...

School Strikes Do Not Stop the Gospel!

Thank you for your continued prayers!  The teacher strike has not yet caused the students to miss school.  Unlike kids at home, students here view education as a privilege rather than a right.  With this correct thought they are all showing up each day for school even though they are aware that the teachers might not.  This morning our two teams spoke to over 5,400 students in 22 different groups.  In most of these places there were only one or two workers on site. I do want to say a word of appreciation for the few teachers and workers that...

Teacher Strike in Ghana Threatens The Gospel

News reached us today that the national teachers in Ghana have, once again, initiated a strike.  This of course means that the schools will be vacated and fallow -- devoid of students.  Since we are ministering in villages and towns which are a bit far removed from the Capital city of Accra the official word of the strike has not yet reached the schools here. On Monday, in an effort to speak to as many students as possible, Jeff Andler, Craig Barker, Briana Chase, and I spoke to 19 different schools groups!  This was our hottest day yet, but by...

Opportunities And Responsibilities

It’s early on Saturday morning as I type this blog.  I’m sitting in my hotel room, sipping a cup of Starbucks coffee as an oscillating stirs the air around. These little things have become a welcomed part of our stay in Ghana. Our first full week of evangelism projects is now complete.  In all we have been able to share the Gospel with over 10,800 people in 76 different venues.  When we stop and reflect on this, we realize that our team of 5 people has been blessed beyond measure with this privilege.   However with such an immense privilege comes...
