Almost Home!

JFK Airport -- Our team arrived at 5 am from our overnight flight home.  The project, which ended for us with  nine schools on Friday morning, was a wonderful experience.  Our drive from Juapong to Accra was not without moments of excitement.  I was driving the team back in one of our Land Rovers and quickly discovered that the steering was very loose so we stopped at a roadside “workshop” for the necessary repairs.  After less than one half-hour the mechanic had made the necessary adjustments and we were back on the road to Accra. Within a few minutes we...

Headed Home

JUAPONG, GHANA-- Our team is headed back to Accra today for our scheduled flight home tonight.  During our days here we have shared the Gospel in 120 separate venues  to audiences of nearly 35,000 people.  By God’s grace we saw 23,751 individuals indicate their first-time decision for Christ.  Our national team members will conduct two film crusades tonight and one assembly on Saturday night. Thank you for your continued prayers.  Please ask God to continue to give us safety as we travel to Accra and then fly to America.

The Work of the Gospel Continues

JUAPONG, GHANA-- The wispy clouds brought both shade and a cool breeze for our school ministry this morning.  With students gathered under the shade of trees we shared the gospel message with many people today.  All in all we have seen over 20,000 individuals indicate their decision to receive Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. This afternoon is a different story.  The electric power has been off for the most of the day and it is hot and sticky here.  Even with the cloudy skies and the rumble of thunder in the distance the weather here is difficult for...

Subtle Attacks to the Gospel

Juapong, Ghana -- 18,638. That’s the number of people who have indicated their decision to receive Jesus Christ thus far during this project in Ghana.  Through noon on Wednesday we have shared the Gospel in 97 different venues to total crowds nearing 30,000.  This has been, and continues to be, a wonderful ministry where God is preparing the hearts of people to hear His Word.  We are thankful for all you who are praying for the work.   This morning was filled with blessings.  My team had the opportunity to speak in a Senior High School where over 3,000 students,...

Ministry of the Mundane

Juapong, Ghana -- Sometimes the ordinary is extraordinary!  Let me tell you about the ministry of the mundane. Often the daily things of life seem  mundane and insignificant, but nothing with God is so. There is heavenly “rightness” about continuing on during times of tedious sameness. Today our ministry here continues on the same paths.  We were up and out before 7:30 and traveled down more rough roads to more desolate schools.  The ride was more bumpy and the schools were farther out than on previous days.  The people responded well to the message of Jesus and we distributed Bibles...

Second Week of Ministry Has Begun

Juapong, Ghana -- Our morning began around 6am.  After breakfast Jeff and I set out for our day of school ministries.  With each of us and our national team members loaded into our Land Rovers we began our way down the main road from town.  The wide dirt road harkened me back to days of my childhood in rural North Carolina.  I was reminded that God is always been preparing us for His assignments. In this more rural area we are working in much smaller schools.  Most of these kids and teachers have never had a “yavoo” (“white man”) visit...
