The Opportunities of Surprise

[Peki, Ghana] --  During our time in Ghana, God has afforded us with many surprises. I’ve written about some of them already.  On most days, somewhere along the road, we offer someone a ride and during their time in the vehicle they are presented with the Gospel, and most times, they respond positively.  We’ve been surprised by the opportunities to go in and share the Gospel with people in unscheduled schools, villages, and towns. Yesterday I wrote about the activities in this area in preparation for the passing of the Presidential motorcade.  Little did we know that the President would...

Somebody is Watching!

[Peki, Ghana] -- Our ministry here continues to go well.  We have been able to share the Gospel with nearly 25,000 people thus far! Something special is happening today in this area of Ghana.  The President and his motorcade will be passing through this town en route to the Regional Capital.  The preparation for his journey is amazing. Hundreds of workers are busily preparing the road for his passage.  Construction machines are moving dirt and the laborers are all clad in hardhats and brightly colored vests.  There are traffic cones, construction signs, and all the rest.  Everything is ready for...

JESUS Film Shown Nightly In Villages

[Peki, Ghana] -- We have received word that team member Craig Barker made it home safely this weekend.  We were extremely blessed to have him with us for this past week.  Jeff Andler, Andy Poe, and I are still on the field in Ghana.  Thus far we have shared the Gospel in 101 separate venues to over 20,000 people.  Praise God for His wonderful provision! Today we began our project’s final week of ministry in the schools.  Our schedule has us slated to be in schools through Friday, 05 October.  In additional to the numerous schools we will be holding...

The Testimony of One

Saturday night Andy had another chance to preach in a small village.  When he arrived they were showing the Jesus film, projecting it on the side of a building.  With a crowd of around 200 people, Andy shared the Gospel and many prayed to receive Christ, including one man named Isaac who came and spoke with Andy as the team was breaking down the equipment. Isaac had such joy in his heart and a smile on his face as he told Andy, through a translator, that for some reason he had been compelled to come to the cinema that night. ...

How Big Is Your World?

[Peki, Ghana] -- One of the great things about travel is the opportunity to catch up on one’s reading.  While here I’ve been reading “Radical” by David Platt.  This is certainly a book worth reading.  I would encourage (yet warn) you to read this book.  It is a wonderful, challenging, and relevant book for today’s church. One of the central themes of the book is the truth that God has saved every Christian “for a glorious, global, God-exalting purpose.”  He forthrightly states, “we have drawn a line of distinction, assigning the obligations of Christianity to a few while keeping the...

Just Two Women Along The Roadside

[Peki, Ghana] Thus far, we have shared the Gospel in 84 different ministry venues to crowds of nearly 20,000.  As of today, we have seen 11,820 individuals indicate their response to the offer of salvation! On our way to the villages this morning, we stopped and picked up two women who were walking along the roadside. We offered them a ride and they gladly accepted our invitation.  Within a matter of seconds, pastors Ebenezer and Jacob were talking with these ladies about their spiritual condition. When asked, “What must one do to have a relationship with God?” one lady responded,...
