The Glory of the Lord is in This Place!

The Glory of the Lord is in this place!  It is so refreshing to see the smiles on the faces of the students as we share with them the love of Jesus.  The schools we are visiting are remote and far removed from the larger towns and cities of Ghana.  To witness the excitement from the schools upon our arrival is truly an unbelievable experience.  Thus far, through Wednesday noon, we have shared the Gospel in 44 separate ministry venues and have seen 8,012 indicated decisions for Christ. Our ministry so far has been in the extreme southeastern corner of...

God is at Work in Ghana!

[Denu, Ghana, Mar. 13, 1255 LT] -- We have just completed two mornings of school ministry.  In addition to the school ministry we have been in a church service, dental clinics, and six evening film crusades.  All in all we have shared the Gospel in 30 separate venues where we have seen 5,512 indicated, first-time decisions for Christ!  Thanks be to God for His indescribable grace. The weather here is sunny and hot.  By the time the school programs are over each day the beating sun is taking a toll on us all, but no one is complaining.  We are...

Our Second Full Day of Ministry

[Denu, Ghana, Mar. 12, 1930, LT] -- Our second full day of ministry is now behind us.  We conducted six school ministries, a dental clinic and two film crusades (the two films were last night and two team members are leading in two more now.)  So far we have seen over 2,950 individuals indicate their first-time decision for Christ. There is nothing out of the ordinary to report today.  The team has so smoothly meshed together that it feels like “just another day.” Our team has discovered that people are still hungry to hear the truth.  In every place where...

Sunday, March 11 – Our First Full Day of Ministry

[Denu, Ghana 1400, LT] -- We have arrived and settled into our wonderful field hotel here in eastern Ghana.  The small town of Denu is only a ten minute drive from the Togolese border.  The town is typical to others here and has all the reminders that we are certainly in Africa.  The small streets are crowed with people -- some in vehicles, more on bikes, but most of foot scurrying from place to place looking for their daily provisions.  The atmosphere is dusty and dry, but the occasional rain shower serves to settle things down. The town is only...

The Project Has Begun

[Accra, Ghana 1155, LT] -- Praise God from whom all blessings flow.  After a day of travel the entire team arrived safely in Accra.  The flight delays and schedule changes for Andy and James were only a “bump in the road” for these veteran ministry partners.  I am thankful for men like this who join us and work so diligently for the sake of the Gospel. We are preparing now to leave this capital city for a four-hour journey to the town of Aflo near the Togolese border where we will be stationed for the rest of this project. Please...

Here We Go Again!

Here we go again! The months of preparation are complete, the team has assembled and we are headed back to West Africa. Our first overseas ministry project of 2012 is underway.  I am sitting in the airport in Charlotte with colleagues Rev. Jeff Andler and Dr. David Ney as we wait to board our flight to Washington where we will then connect for an overnight flight to Accra, Ghana Our two other team members, Dr. James McLean and Mr. Andy Poe are en route from Raleigh to Atlanta, then from Atlanta to Amsterdam where they will connect to their flight...
