The Most Wonderful Time of The Year
Without a doubt, this is the most wonderful time of the year! I must confess that our grandkids talked us in to letting them start putting up Christmas decorations a week earlier than ever before. Truth is they did not have to “talk” too much, because I love Christmas. Even with the Christmas tree in place, I have reminded them that we must never overlook Thanksgiving. There really is a trilogy of holidays in front of us: Thanksgiving is a time of humility in the presence of God where we are mindful of His grace, mercy, and blessings. This leads us...

The Joy of the Journey
[Accra, Ghana] This chapter of ministry in Ghana is behind us. I have received word that Craig Barker, Mark Chase, and Andy Poe arrived safely at JFK in New York early on Saturday morning and are traveling to their home airports. I am thankful for the great ways God used each of these men while in country. Each performed their assigned tasks without complaint or hesitation. I look forward to the next project with these men. Jeff Andler and I are awaiting our flight home on Saturday night. As we sit in our hotel here in the capital city of...

It’s simple … but not easy!
I never tire of what I do! Again this morning our team awoke to hot coffee and a delicious breakfast of sausage, eggs, vegetables, and toast. We crawled into our vehicles and made our way to the remote village schools. Each team member would admit that we are always overwhelmed at the welcome we receive upon our arrival. Smiling faces and warm waves are the norm. We stand and share the simple message of God’s power, provision, and promise through Jesus Christ. It’s so simple ... but not easy. All of our American team simply benefits for the...

It’s not just a job … It’s an ADVENTURE!
We awoke this morning to another day in paradise ... with no electricity. I must confess this is beginning to take a toll on the Americans, but God’s grace continues to prove sufficient. The worse thing about no morning electricity is that we are unable to boil water for coffee. If you think it is bad to stand in line at Starbucks, try staring at a pot of water that requires electricity! Eventually the electricity returned and we all were able to get caffeinated! As we finished breakfast, our Ghanian teams arrived ready for our departure from our base camp...

Where does this road go?
All roads lead to somewhere You have probably heard the expression “the middle of nowhere” but today every one of our team members were sure that was exactly where they were. I know by now you are probably tired of hearing about the horrible roads we are traveling down and I will do my best to refrain from mentioning them in this blog. We started our day like every other day ... breakfast ... boarding the vehicles ... leaving the parking lot and setting out for our morning assignments. All three teams, each in separate vehicles, turned right from the...
