The Final Leg
[24 March 2017, Accra, Ghana] The journey from Akim to Accra began on Friday morning at 0500. After we shared the gospel with another 12 school groups our total team gathered in our hotel for words of thanks and appreciation for all that God has accomplished on this project.
We got settled into our vehicle for the 3+ hour trip back to Accra where we will spend the night tonight before boarding our scheduled flight home on Saturday morning. About 1 hour in to our trip we heard a strange noise coming from our truck. At the next police boarder check point we noticed smoke rising from the hood and upon inspection we realized that one of the fan belts on our engine had broken which made it impossible to continue.
National Director, Sammy Lartey hailed a taxi and loaded our American team into the vehicle and bade us farewell for our trip home. Upon arriving in Accra, about 2 hours later, we telephoned Sammy to let him know that we had arrived and he told us that he was still waiting on his mechanic to arrive on the scene. Please continue to pray for him and the repairs as well as his trip back to the project site to coordinate for the national team’s return to their homes.
During this entire project we were able to share the gospel in 176 separate venues to estimated audiences of 39,303 individuals. There are three additional film crusades scheduled for today.
I will try and send you a more detailed project report once we are back home, but for now I want to thank-you for your faithful prayerful support of this project. Even though we are headed home, please never forget the pray for the ministers here and the work that never ends.
On behalf of Jeff, Mark and Andy, and our entire national team, I am gratefully yours, as we “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel…
