Straight From My Heart…
Once every four years we in America are bombarded by political promises.
The problem is that too many people have placed their hopes in a political system replete with parties, candidates, platforms, and pundits. So many people, on both sides of the aisle are convinced that “their candidate” is the answer.
It is imperative to remember that the hope of the world is not a candidate, but is Christ. No political party is capable of ushering in a time of lasting peace or prosperity. The ebb and flow that is humanity is looking for answers in all the wrong places. We are looking at the best the world has to offer and continually act surprised when we again see that the best man can do is temporary.
In these days of world-wide political, social, and economic chaos, those of us who know Christ have a great challenge and opportunity before us. Now,as perhaps never before we must take seriously the commission of God to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations …” As the world and its systems continue to implode we must take both literally and purposefully our mandate. Now is the time for you to share more personally, pray more passionately, read more deliberately, and trust more completely.
Regardless of what anyone tells you, please know that we are living in the most strategic time to-date. There is a subversive assault on the people and things of God by our enemy. The word of God tells us that our battle is not human … it is spiritual. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” — Ephesians 6:12 NASB
The battle to control the minds and hearts of people is a cosmic conflict that every believer must recognize. The time for playing is over. Now is the time for us to face the truth of the battle and engage ourselves completely.
The word of God gives us a clear preparation plan. Read the words of the Apostle Paul in this letter to the Ephesians. Remember, he is writing to Christians when he says,
“Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” –Eph. 6:13-17 NASB
This battle armor is designed for the full protection of every believer! Notice, however, that there is but one piece of offensive weaponry mentioned [which is] the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
I hope you will never forget that our only necessary weapon in this battle is the precious Word of God.
Be certain you know the only way for others to come to Christ is through the Word of God. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” — Rom 1:16 NASB
As you go through your day-to-day life and share with others the Love of God, realize that the battle for the souls of men will not be won through persuasive speech, clever schemes, or hollow promises, but rather the Gospel, which is the Power of God for salvation!
The world needs Jesus, PERIOD. We cannot rest, we cannot slow, we must not stop until every person in our circles of influence have heard that JESUS is Lord. I pray that you will take seriously the mandate of God!
