Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Someone quipped, “Snow is beautiful—when you are watching the other fellow shovel it.”

Back on February 2nd, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and proclaimed that we were in for 6 more weeks of winter. IT CERTAINLY seems for many of us that he was right. Even here in lovely North Carolina single digit lows are being called for this week.

Winter can be a wonderful time of the year … depending on your perspective. The kids long for days of sledding while adults only see it as a day of shoveling. It’s all about perspective.

The same is true for most everything in life. Zig Ziglar said, “Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.” What is your attitude like today? Do you constantly see the glass as half-empty or half-full? Is everything in front of you viewed as a problem or a possibility?

Here are some 3 things to remember EVERYDAY:

  1. God is in control; I am not!
  2. God always has the right to interrupt my schedule.
  3. God will constantly be reshaping me into HIS image.

In the Old Testament we are taught this third lesson in a very wonderful way.

“The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will let you hear my words.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and the reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do.” (Jeremiah 18:1-4 nlt)

Allow God to use the circumstance of every day life to make you into all that He wants you to be. Since nothing catches God off guard, He has a perfect plan set in store for you this week. I say, let it snow … let it snow … let it snow. As no two snowflakes are the same this is certain, each snowflake comes from above!
