The Call of God and Personal Responsibility

[Adidoma, VR Ghana.] It is afternoon on Thursday and our teams, since last Saturday, have collectively shared the Gospel in 104 venues to an audience of over 21,000 individuals where an estimated 15,000 have indicated personal decisions to receive Christ!

The call of God on our lives takes us to places we have never imagined.  Traveling down these rough rugged roads has somehow begun to feel normal for us.  The sights along the way have become routine for those of us who have been coming over the past two decades, but each day is distinctively unique.  Yesterday we were face-to-face with government officials and the area Chief and his council.  Today we met with bankers and professionals as well as desperate people out in the remote regions of this country, but each was an individual assignment from the Lord.

Standing in front of a school this morning God reminded me that while it looks just like the schools from yesterday, last year, or any of the past several years, each of these students and teachers are His assignment for me today.  While this might sound trivial or simple it was a divine moment for me today.

In every school, we encounter people whom we have never seen, and it is our responsibility to share with them the undeniable truth of the Lord Jesus.  While not every one of them responds positively to the Gospel, they each must hear it.  It is not within our ability to respond for them, it is our responsibility to share with them.  This is the call of God on our lives.

This same truth is for each person reading this blog.  We are all on assignment from the Lord.  No matter what you are doing today, it is God’s assignment for you.  Regardless of your position or profession, God gives you opportunities every day to invest in other people with all that God has done within you.  I pray that you will never simply go through the motions of day-to-day life, rather that you will embrace every situation as responsibility to let others see God’s grace within you.  Paul wrote,

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you … Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. — Colossians 3:16-17 NASB

I pray that you will realize the call and commission of God today.  You do not know what today holds, but you know who holds today.

Please pray that we will all embrace the assignment from God.  We are all counting on your continued faithful prayers for this ministry.
