Another Lesson From The NFL Playoffs
It matters more how you finish that how you start! For nearly everyone watching the Seattle Seahawks host the Green Bay Packers football game on Sunday it was obvious that Green Bay was going to win the game. With a little more than two minutes left in the game they led the Seahawks 19-7. They were going to the Super Bowl. But as the post game conversation would tell, “We did not finish” was all that could be said in light of their OT lost. For the Seahawks it was the “thrill of victory” but for Green Bay is was the “agony of defeat.”
On the larger level of life we must note that while we all start the new year with resolutions and lofty goals none of these will come to pass unless we finish strong. The score at the end of the first, second, or third quarter is not what matters. We all mush finish strong. We must set our mind to the immediate, not dwelling on the past or dreaming for the future. We should look for opportunities each day to show all those around us the love of God in Christ Jesus. I want to encourage us all to FINISH STRONG.
