The Dental Clinic Closes – Saturday in Sogakope

Saturday in Sogakope

[Sogakope, Ghana] It is difficult to know the exact impact of this week’s dental clinic here in Ghana.  Dr. David P. Ney dds from Concord, NC made his seventh trip to Ghana since 2008.  With each trip he has become more adept in his special dental ministry.  On Saturday alone, he extracted teeth from 29 individuals. David has a true servant’s heart and is a valuable part of our larger ministry team.  I count it an honor to call him my friend.  He departed Ghana on Saturday for his trip home.  He will be missed by everyone.

All of our team members agree that David is a great addition to this ministry team.

Jeff Andler noted, “(David) adapts quickly to the harsh environment and noticeably makes the people comfortable by creating an attitude of trust and on their part.”

Sammy Lartey said, “Dr. David affords us with the wonderful opportunity to see people individually.  We are able to talk to both patients and friends face-to-face where we are able to share the love of Christ with them in a more personal way.”

James McLean remarked “I really like David. He really helps the people here.  His ministry is totally different from ours in that he is not verbally sharing the Gospel, but is putting his faith in action by putting his feet to work.”

When asked about Dr. Ney’s ministry, Andy Poe agreed, “David is pleasure to be around and has a great work ethic.  He brings so much energy and excitement in sharing his gifts with the people.”

The rest of the team has another week of ministry in the Volta Region of Ghana.  We will be conducting three school teams each morning and continuing our three film teams each evening.  Thus far we have shared the Gospel with an estimated audience of over 12,600 people in 55 separate venues where we have seen over 9,000 individuals indicate first-time decisions for Christ.

To God be the glory!  Continue to remember us in your prayers.
