Safe, Uneventful Arrival in Ghana, West Africa

[Accra, Ghana} — We (Jeff Andler and I) have arrived safely in West Africa after three good, yet uneventful flights.  Our flights took us from Charlotte to Munich, to Istanbul, to Accra. (Craig Barker and Andy Poe are scheduled to arrive on Thursday around noon local time.)

While this routing was certainly not the most direct, I am sure God had a reason for this.  One of the reasons, I am sure, is that while flying over Tripoli, Libya I was compelled to pray for the situation in that and other hotspots around that part of the world.  My heart was saddened as I thought about the murders of the innocents at the hands of the Muslim extremists.  Another reason for being in the airport in Istanbul was to make me more aware of the millions of people who are yet cloaked in darkness without Christ.  There were so many signs of religion in the area, yet there was a darkness that is associated with lives without Christ.  I hope you will join me in praying for the billions of people who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

After Craig and Andy arrive on Thursday we will immediately leave Accra and travel the three hours out to Atimpoku where we will have our initial meeting with ministry director, Sammy Lartey and members of our national team.  After a night’s  rest we will move to our field location where we will settle in for the two weeks of intense, front-line evangelism work.  Please pray for the safety, health, strength, and work of all those laboring on this project.

I will do my best to keep you up-to-date on the happening here.  Let me express our appreciation to Julie Wozniak, my able ministry assistant who does such a wonderful job in actually getting these blogs posted in such a timely manner.  Without her, you will be without information about this project.

Let me also say thank-you to all who helped us financially with this project.  Every day of ministry is a constant reminder of the truth; “God is rarely early but He is NEVER late.”  His provision is always divinely marvelous.

On behalf of the entire team, thank-you for your continued prayerful support of the work of the Gospel.
